KathFEST HACKATHON

About This Event

Hackathon is a two day hackathon program which will be held on 15th & 16th of Shrawan within the Kathford college premises. Hackathons (Hacking Marathons) are the timed events where a group of people work together in a predefined set of problems, intensively, for a period of a few days. The aim is to design, build and present the most innovative solution to a problem, and then pitch a final concept, prototype or presentation to the stakeholders. Hackathon participants can present their ideas in software as well as hardware related fields based on the provided theme. Theme for the Hackathon will be provided on the spot right before the event, and then the groups can start to innovate on any of the selected themes. There will be handsome prizes for Winner, First Runner up and Second Runner up teams.

Rules & Eligibility

  • Eligibility: Open to students from recognized colleges across Nepal. Teams must consist of 2–4 members.
  • Theme: Provided on the spot right before the event. Both software and hardware ideas are welcome.
  • Project Requirements: Projects must be developed during the hackathon. Any pre-built core functionality must be clearly disclosed.
  • Originality & Code Freeze: All submitted work must be original. Plagiarism results in immediate disqualification. No further development allowed after Code Freeze.
  • Repository & Attendance: Teams must use version control within the event's GitHub organization. At least one member must be present at the workspace throughout.
  • Evaluation Criteria (100 Marks): Innovation (20), Tech Implementation (20), Problem Understanding (15), Functionality (15), UI/UX (10), Presentation (10), Q&A (5), Teamwork (5).
